Black Avenue

Emerging from Detroit's industrial landscape, Black Avenue are an American four-piece alternative rock band whose music combines raw garage-rock energy, blues-influenced guitar work and a distinctly rebellious attitude. Formed in 2022, the band consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Jake Harlow, lead guitarist Caleb Price, bassist Owen Graves and drummer Finn Walker. Together, they have developed a sound built around thick, distorted guitar riffs, infectious bass grooves, hard-hitting percussion and Harlow's unmistakably smoky, rough-edged vocals. Black Avenue's music explores the darker corners of attraction, ambition, recklessness and human relationships. Their songwriting balances provocative storytelling with moments of unexpected vulnerability, creating songs that are as emotionally engaging as they are energetic. While the band's sound draws from Detroit's longstanding garage-rock and blues traditions, their approach is firmly contemporary. Heavy, groove-driven arrangements sit alongside memorable choruses and carefully controlled dynamics, allowing their music to move naturally between explosive rock anthems and more atmospheric compositions. Their debut single, Gasoline, introduces the band's seductive and confrontational character through a driving guitar riff, swaggering vocals and an explosive chorus. As Black Avenue begin their recording career, their ambition is to develop a catalogue that captures the raw excitement of rock music without sacrificing melody, individuality or emotional depth.
