Caleb Price

Caleb Price is an American guitarist and songwriter whose distinctive playing forms a central part of Detroit alternative rock band Black Avenue. Born in 2000, Price developed an early fascination with electric guitar, particularly the expressive possibilities of distortion, blues phrasing and unconventional melodic arrangements. While many of his contemporaries focused on technical complexity, Price became interested in creating guitar parts that listeners could recognise within seconds. His playing combines thick, overdriven riffs with restrained melodic passages and expressive solos. The result is a style that can be aggressive without sacrificing musical detail. In 2022, Price began collaborating with vocalist and songwriter Jake Harlow. Their contrasting creative instincts helped establish the foundations of Black Avenue, with Price contributing instrumental arrangements and challenging Harlow to develop his lyrical ideas into fully realised songs. Following the addition of bassist Owen Graves and drummer Finn Walker, Price became a key figure in shaping the band's distinctive sound. On their debut single Gasoline, his guitar work provides much of the recording's character, combining a driving riff with blues-influenced lead passages. Away from the spotlight, Price remains focused on composition and experimentation, continually searching for new ways to expand Black Avenue's musical identity.
