Daniel Hart

Daniel Hart, born in 1962, is the fictional British drummer, backing vocalist and songwriter of The Crimson Crown, founded in London in 1984 with Vincent Ashford and Julian Mercer after they met through the city's music scene in 1983. Daniel contributed energetic, powerful acoustic drumming, high backing harmonies and accessible songwriting. Outgoing and humorous, he was often the emotionally grounded mediator between Vincent's theatrical ambition and Julian's intricate musical perfectionism. His friendship with both men helped sustain the band's thirty-year partnership through early theatrical rock, expansive 1990s arena productions and mature 2000s recordings. During Vincent's ALS-related decline after 2010, Daniel adapted his stage responsibilities and contributed percussion and vocals at the band's final 2012 Royal Albert Hall concert. After Vincent's death in 2014, Daniel and Julian decided The Crimson Crown could not continue without its original trio. In the fictional 2026 timeline Daniel is approximately 64; his later life and any solo activity have not been developed.
